HIPHOPBATTLE.COM was founded by launched David Velo Stewart and Bertha Stewart in April of 1999.  It presently stands as one of the world’s oldest hip hop/film websites.  It was originally created as site for hip hop artist of all kinds to compete against one another over the internet.   However, after the in house production and international distribution of the feature films Hiphopbattle.com: Hip Hop 4 Life and the City vs. City MC Battles, the focus on the site shifted to mass media exploration and evaluation. 

Mission: To provide the Hip Hop/Urban perspective on all forms of mass media and special events.   Hiphopbattle.com is a Web news and entertainment outlet, that regularly covers major film festivals, DVD premieres, artist showcase, and major global tech events.
